It is no accident that the name of our practice derives from a song made famous by Judy Garland in 1946. The term itself, “silver lining” suggests a sign of hope, a bright prospect in what may otherwise be an un-chosen or unfortunate situation. At Silver Linings for Seniors, we have brought together a team of outstanding therapists, who are dedicated to working with older people, to help them look behind and beyond the clouds that may have come into their lives.
We practice a holistic, integrative approach which has been shown to be a very effective method for assisting our clients in the process of healing, making transformations, and creating a life filled with overall happiness and wellness, or as the song says, “…joy and gladness”.
We know that every client is different and may need a different therapeutic style. That is why we are excited to have therapists with different backgrounds. Ranging from Pastoral Counseling to Substance Use therapy and more, our therapists have a variety of techniques to help clients find their silver lining.
Some therapy approaches our therapists utilize are:
Mindfulness and Meditation
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Reminiscent & Validation Therapy for those with Cognitive Impairments
